On this occasion, I’m not one to flout popular practice. Here are my two most treasured childhood posessions, and they’re both teddies. Just like everyone else. The one on the right was the second teddy ever given to me, creatively named ‘Teddy’. My first ever, ‘Rabbit’ (guess what it was!) is also treasured, but I couldn’t find it for the photo. Teddy is dressed in a kid’s bathers and a t-shirt we dyed purple when I was in primary school, as a mascot for my Purple House for the swimming carnival.
On the left is Benedict (a la Jebediah, for anyone who grew up in Australia in the nineties), given to me by my best friend when I moved back to Victoria when I was 14. Both of them still sleep in my bed. Incidentally, they’re sitting on a bedsheet I’ve had all my life – I keep thinking it’d make great craft projects, but I just don’t think I’ll ever be able to cut it up.
Thanks three buttons for hosting ‘This is’, and tea cups on treetops for the theme. This is my first time playing I didn’t realise the ‘this is’ week started on a Sunday! So perhaps this week we will have more than one.
